Expand your view of what’s possible with the Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) SM-A730 32GB Smartphone in black. The Galaxy A8+ literally expands your view with the 6″ Super AMOLED that features an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Dubbed the “Infinity Display”, the screen of the A8+ offers a wide horizontal view that is designed to provide a stunning cinematic experience to your mobile entertainment. Vertically, it provides more real estate for browsing social media feeds and articles, so you can read more with less scrolling.
The dual 16MP and 8MP front cameras of the A8+ work with the Live Focus mode to add a bokeh effect to your selfies. The blurred background helps you and your friends stand out, and by having dual cameras, you can re-adjust the focus of the background to your liking. The 16MP rear camera has been given a bright f/1.7 lens, larger 1.12 micron pixels, and a bigger 1/2.8″ sensor; which brings in more light to give you improved low-light capabilities.
Running the Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system, this phone is powered by a 1.6/2.2 GHz Octa-Core processor (2 x 2.2 GHz Cortex-A73, 6 x 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53) and 4MB of RAM. You can store your apps and snaps on 32GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded via an (optional) microSD card up to 400GB in size.
This phone is unlocked and compatible with GSM/4G LTE networks. If you travel a lot or have a separate work number, you can take advantage of the Dual SIM slots to access both accounts. Connect to the internet and other devices with built-in 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4+5 GHz Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. The Galaxy A8+ also supports NFC technology for making phone-to-phone data transfers, or mobile payments via Samsung Pay.
GSM / 4G LTE Wireless Connectivity
This phone is designed to work on select GSM networks and is 4G LTE capable. LTE is an advanced cellular network data protocol capable of data speeds so fast that they compete with wired broadband Internet providers. With an LTE connection, this phone should have no problem streaming HD video, downloading apps, uploading photos, or anything else that requires a high-speed data connection. The phone is also backwards compatible with 3G and 2G data for instances when you can’t get LTE. In addition to cellular wireless, this phone also features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Note: Not compatible with all cellular networks. Please make sure your provider uses a frequency or band that this phone supports. International Variant / US Compatible LTE
The SM-A730 is an international variant of the Galaxy A8+ (2018). The SM-A730’s LTE radio is tuned to frequencies that are most often used in the United States and North America, as well as Europe and elsewhere. To ensure this phone will work with your carrier please check to make sure the frequencies your carrier uses are supported by this phone. Android 7.1.1 Nougat
The Android operating system integrates heavily with Google’s services. Using the card-based Google Now, Android quickly surfaces information for you whenever you need it, powered by the same Knowledge Engine that runs Google’s web search. It’s a personalized and customizable OS, allowing you to add your favorite apps or widgets to your homescreen. You can even download new themes using the Google Play Store, which offers access to more than one million apps, games, books, music, movies, and more. Android 7.0 Nougat adds major productivity capabilities to the operating system in the form of a multi-window view, which allows for two apps to be placed onscreen at a time. An improved notification system allows you to interact with texts and emails right from your notification pane – without needing to open the app. Other features include file-based encryption, a Data Saver mode, the ability to scale text and icons to better suit your phone’s screen, and more.
Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS)
Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) allows you to lower your mobile costs when traveling while staying connected. Once your SIM cards are installed, you will be able to receive phone calls and text messages from either without needing to manually choose which one is active. When you want to make a call or send an SMS message, you can select the correct SIM card. When one SIM card is being used for a phone call, the other will not be active until you hang up. Operator charges may apply.
Focus on the Fun
Samsung adds some fun software modes and image editing features to go along with their dual front-facing cameras. Make your selfies stand out on social media using face-recognition technology to automatically add stickers to you and your friends. Beauty Effect is designed to make you look your best online, with Slim Face, Large Eyes and Skin Tone adjustments.
If there’s one thing we snap more than ourselves, it’s the food we eat. That’s why Samsung created Food Mode, which is specially designed to enhance the food in your photos. An array of image filters are also included, letting you give any photo you take a unique look.
IP68 Waterproof & Dustproof
IP68 Waterproof & Dustproof Ingress Protection (IP) is an industry standard rating system that determines how resistant a device is to penetration from varying degree of liquid and dust. The Galaxy A8+ is certified IP68, which is one of the highest ratings currently possible as of this writing.
The A8+ earned an IP68 rating by having the ability to be submerged in up to 1.5m of water, for up to 30 minutes. It also proved to be completely protected from dust, making it an ideal phone to handle very dusty, or sandy environments. Including, salt mist spray, salt fog, or sand.
Bixby, Your Virtual Assistant
Keep your day on track, set reminders, and get information via your camera with Bixby. Bixby is a virtual assistant that works via text and touch and learns your habits. With Bixby Home, Bixby Vision, and Bixby Reminder, it integrates seamlessly into not just the Galaxy A8+, but also your lifestyle.
Always On Display
Get informed without waking up your phone. The Always on Display screen is always available and contains important information like date, time, notifications, and even battery level.
Dual Messenger
Divide your work messages and personal chats with Dual Messenger. You can connect to two different chat accounts on supported messenger apps.
Gallery Search Bar
Find the image you want with the gallery search bar. As you search, the gallery analyses your photos and pulls out relevant pictures, even displaying them by category.
Safeguard Your Data
Protect personal information with the Secure Folder on the Galaxy A8+. It creates a separate space within the device to store sensitive and personal data and is designed to make sure it’s only accessible to you.
Adaptive Wi-Fi Control
Conserve mobile data and battery life with adaptive Wi-Fi control on the Galaxy A8+. It remembers where you’ve previously connected to Wi-Fi and turns on to instantly connect when you’re in range. When you leave the service range, Wi-Fi shuts off to keep your battery from draining.
Swift and Simple Unlocking
